- Eat plenty of plant foods
Consuming a wide variety of plant foods, such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains and beans, may decrease disease risk and promote longevity.
2. Limit alcohol consumption
Heavy alcohol consumption may increase the risk of liver, heart and pancreatic diseases.
3. Don’t smoke
Smoking may reduce your lifespan by 10 years make you three times more likely to die prematurely compared to those who never smoke.
4. Exercise regularly
Exercise not only helps you stay in shape but also increases your longevity. You can reduce your risk of premature death with just 15 to 30 minutes of daily exercising.
5. Use turmeric as spice
Thanks to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, curcumin (the bioactive compound in turmeric) is believed to be effective in maintaining brain, heart, and lung function as well as protecting against cancer and age-related diseases.
6. Avoid stress
If you’re feeling stressed out over something, take a deep breath and find ways to destress such as relaxing or hanging out with friends who can make you feel better.
7. Have a good night sleep
Lacking sleep or having too much sleep both have a negative impact on your health. You should try to schedule so that you can go to sleep at 10 to 11 pm and wake up around 5 to 6 am.
